He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Datko and Christine Datko; his wife Ardene Datko; his daughter Mary Lou Shipman; his grandson Daniel; and his siblings, Clement Datko and Nancy Krause.

He is survived by: his children, Doris Howell, Sherry Shimko (Kerry) and Nadene Datko; his son-in-law Miles Shipman; and his grandchildren, Rose, Miles, Roy, Jesse, William, Graham and Claire.
