He is survived by: his father Virgil Calvin Kirkpatrick; his stepchildren, Justin Dorsey and Casandra Dorsey of Alliance; his siblings, Philip Kirkpatrick (Diana) of Ashland, Virgil Kirkpatrick II (Pam) of Alliance, Christopher Kirkpatrick (Tabby) of Alliance and Laurie Dewitt (Scott) of New London; his stepsister Brenda Manion of Atwater; his sister-in-law Esther Fransisco; his grandchildren, Zachary Eckert, Sydney Eckert, Berlyn Dorsey and Damian Dorsey; and his close friend Mike Bryant. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
