He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Geist and Blanche Geist; and his brother Otto Geist, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Gail; his children, Geoff Geist (Sara), Amy Novak (Dan) and Shannon McFarland (Zack); his grandchildren, Braeden, Ethan, Jackson, Lydia, Simon Geist, Brooke, Ben Novak, LeeAnna and Vinny McFarland; and his siblings-in-law, Sandy Geist, Wendy Kidd (Burshel), Keith Hall (Donna) and Marvin Hall (Cheryl).
Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to New London Alliance Church or Beulah Beach, 6101 West Lake Road, Vermilion, OH 44089.
