He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Simmons and Priscilla Matthews (Cary); his sister Jeanie; and his stepfather Elmer Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Simmons (Kirkpatrick); his siblings, Greg Simmons of San Bernardino, CA and Pricilla Uhen of Grand Rapids, MI; and his brother-in-law Roger (Jeanne Kirkpatrick). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and step nieces and nephews.
