He is survived by: his children, Donna Day (Ronald) and Mark Mathews; his grandchildren, Robert Mathews (Michelle), Lindsey Warner Jones, Chris Mathews (Kristie), Amanda Mathews, Marcus Mathews (Cassandra), Courtney Adams (Zach), Chad Dishman and Keira Gilkerson; his sister Loretta Mathews Brown; his daughter-in-law Rhoda Gilkerson; his former wife Millie Gilkerson; and his friend Maxine Dishman.
