He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Frederick and Mary Elizabeth Artz (Wells); his wife Betty Jo; his daughter Robin Roddy; and his grandson David Duhl, Jr..

He is survived by: his daughters, Jenny Miller (Brian) and Andrea Ruxer; and his grandsons, Aaron Milton, Seth Ruxer, Charles, Brian, Jr., Zachary Miller and Dustin Duhl. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
