He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Elizabeth "Betty" Miller; his daughter Christina Lynn Miller; and his parents, Lawrence Raymond Miller and Helen Gladys Devoe Miller. He is survived by: his son L. Brent Miller (Bonnie Weaver-Miller); his grandchildren, Grace Elizabeth Smeenk (Nick), Chase Weaver (Megan), Adeline Marie (Shane Smith), John "Jack" William and Megan Elise Adrion (Alex); his great grandchildren, Charlotte "Charlie" Christina Smeenk, Jasper Wren Smeenk, Brent Thomas Miller and Anna Catherine Miller; his sister Elaine Williams (Jim); and his child Christy. He is also survived by grandfather to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
