He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Barrett and Laura Barrett (Brandenburg); and his siblings, Vercie B. Haggard-Lawson, Edwin Barrett (Christine), Charles Barrett (Lula), Richard Barrett, Otis Barrett, Lawrence Barrett and Cecil Barrett.
He is survived by: his wife Zella Jean Barrett (Lentz); his sons, David Barrett and Wendell Barrett (Wendy); his grandchildren, David Junior, Bobby, James Barrett (Dominika), Araya Barrett and Sara Rowe; his great grandchild Riley Rowe; his siblings, Gearldine Christopher and Clyde Barrett (Faye); and his sister-in-law Alice Barrett.
