He was predeceased by: his parents, Reginald Exley and Ruth Exley (Vanstone). He is survived by: his wife Jane Egbert Exley (Greber); and his children, Kent (Barbara Loveless), Christopher (Christy Hughes), David (Michelle Exley), Scott (Cathy Boettiger), Betty Exley of Madison, WI, Russell Exley of Sidney, OH, Tyna Clark of Sidney, Heather (Kris Kuck) and Lee (Dawn Dabbelt). He is also survived by 39 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
