He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Welch and Betty Jean Welch (Powell); and his brothers, Walter Welch, Bob Welch and Brian Welch.
He is survived by: his siblings, Vicki Keirns (John) of The Plains, Karen McCune (David) of Millfield and Jack Welch (Carol) of Chesterhill; and his niece Tina Chesser of The Plains. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
