He is survived by: his wife Sheri Ervin of Nelsonville; his children, Tila Johnson (Chris) of New Lexington, Tasha Ervin-Glick (Fanchon) of New Straitsville and Joseph "Joe" W. Ervin, Jr. of New Lexington; his grandchildren, Christopher Johnson, Leeah Johnson and Mason Ervin-Wilson; and his siblings, Jeannie Knipe (Rex) of New Lexington, Pam Ervin of New Lexington, James Ervin of Crooksville and Sami Trost (Matt) of Dayton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
