Dorothy Gettle Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Gettle of Nelsonville, Ohio, who passed away on August 8, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Henry Gettle and Bernice Rosalie Gettle (Hopstetter); her aunts and uncles, Sally (Whitmore), Richard Hopstetter, Frances Kesterson (Gettle) and John W. Kesterson; her cousin Richard Alan Anders; her pets, Annie, Brandie, Snowie and Shelby; and also Bertha Woodson.
She is survived by: her cousins, William Hopstetter (Rhea), David Hopstetter (Annette), Natalie Wozniak (Michael), Kay Gabriel, Stephen Hopstetter, George Hopstetter (April Eisman), Dale Hopstetter and Joseph Hopstetter; and her pet Dexter.
Dorothy's wishes were for donations to be made to the Athens County Dog Shelter, the Avalon Animal Rescue, or the Nelsonville Community Foundation care of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio.
