He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Richard Gene and Wilma Louise Cossin Koon; his children, Richard Louis Koon (Bekah) of Chillicothe, Matthew Wayne Koon of Chillicothe, Shawn Michael Detwiler of Nelsonville and Amanda Louise Koon of Des Moines, Iowa; his stepchildren, Traci Kachenko (Peter) of Athens and James Adam Brown (Holly) of Nelsonville; his former wife Tina O'Nail Wachenschwanz of Doanville; his grandchild Arlo Peter Kachenko; and his sister Regina Koon. He was also cherished by twelve grandchildren; one brother; nieces and nephews.
