He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Girt and Elma Girt (Fichter); his son Mike Girt; his brother Gerald Girt; and his brother-in-law Donald Sibila.
He is survived by: his wife Susette Girt (Stewart); his son David Girt; his sisters, Barbara Johnson (Gilbert) and Shirley Sibila; and his sister-in-law Joan Girt. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
