He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Smith and Thelma Smith; his wife Betty Jane Smith; and his siblings, Jim Smith, Harold Smith, Ed Smith and Judy Johr.
He is survived by: his sons, Larry Smith (Jeanette), Howard Jr. Smith (Lori) and Allen Smith (Pam); his grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Ashley Conley, Jeremy Smith, Brian Smith, Kevin Smith, Daniel Smith, Greg Smith, Shannon Smith, Makayla Smith, Jason Keith, Mitch Smith and Missy Smith; and his siblings, Carolyn Albracht, Linda Reamer, Bobby Smith, Elaine Ohm and Shirley Griffith. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
