She was predeceased by: her father Lorenz Elling; her grandson-in-law Ben Herman; and her sister Iretha Sleesman (Howard). She is survived by: her husband Neal Sturdavant; her children, Joseph Sturdavant (Diane), Cynthia Keene (Donald) and Karen Zumfelde (James); her grandchildren, Jason Sturdavant (Traci), Adam Sturdavant (May), Joshua Keene, Kyle Keene (Jessica), Kelsey Rettig (David) and Jessica Tolles (Chris); and her siblings, Rosella Hannewald (Jerry), Robert Elling (Judy) and Glenna Helmke (Kennith). She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Research and Prevention Foundation or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
