He was predeceased by: his father Raymond Hurst; and his brother Roger Hurst. He is survived by: his mother Dorothy Hurst (Shibler); his wife Susan Hogrefe; his children, Jeremy Hurst (Jen), Carrie Stamm (Kent) and Rachel Wagner; his grandchildren, Travis Wagner, Tyler, Jack, Kennedy Hurst, Elena, Moses and Isaiah Stamm; his siblings, Marsha Bostelman (Lynn), Steven Hurst (Sue Ann), Robert "Willie" Hurst and Carl Hurst (Pam); and his sister-in-law Becky Hurst.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
