He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Sylvanus, Jr. and Edna Stout Spurgeon; his former wife Carol; his wife Martha; and his siblings, Orville Spurgeon, Alice Greenhagen, Marie Liptrap, Neal Spurgeon, Fredrick Spurgeon, Sylvanis Spurgeon and Marvel Terry.
He is survived by: his niece Cheryl Yaw; and his nephew Tedd Spurgeon. He is also survived by his wife.
