He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Betty June Houts of Liberty Center, Ohio.; his children, Steven, Diann Mansfield, David (Rhonda) and Jean Knepley (Scott); his granddaughters, Carissa Gilgenbach (James), Kathryn Steveline (Mike), Robin Civiello (Brice), Kara Payne (Matt), Michelle Hahn (Ben) and Rachel Gerken (Cole); his stepgranddaughters, Jackie Anderson (Ryan) and Nicole Wilson (Alex); his great grandchildren, Colton, Gavin Gilgenbach, Parker, Hunter Civiello, Jacob Payne, Will, Miles Hahn, Crew, Simon Gerken, Isla, Ari, Bode Anderson, Aiden, Nora Wilson, Alyana, Sunny and Elliot Gerken; his brother Dwight; and his friend Roger Jaqua.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church (Church, Scholarship fund, or St. Paul Radio station) or to CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
