He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Gerken and Emilie Gerken (Badenhop); his wife Dorothy Wiemken; and his siblings, Rudolph Gerken, Caroline Hoffman and Waldo Gerken.
He is survived by: his children, Beverly Becker (Michael), Randall Gerken (Liza) and Bethann Gerken; his grandchildren, Brittany Trolio (Kevin) and Jerid Stine; his stepgrandchildren, Kevin Becker and Amy Aust; and his sister Melba Elling. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
