He was predeceased by: his parents, David Thornton and Betty Thornton (Carter); his wife Linda Lou Thornton; his sister Cindy Thornton; and his son Brian Patrick Thornton.
He is survived by: his daughters, Christina Rice (Charles), Janice Jenkins (Eric), Sally Chandler (Michael), Nicole Thornton (Mandy), Candy Tucker (Andrew) and Brandy McClory (Will Gray); his brother Richard Thornton; and his friends, Jim Saman, Stan and Tenna Duval. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
