He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernhard Michaelis and Edna Michaelis (Oberhaus); his former wife Barbara Hatfield; his stepdaughter Teresa Pauley; his stepgrandson Tyler Moorehead; and his siblings, Clarence Michaelis (Rosie) and Betty Middleton (Dan).
He is survived by: his wife Judy Pauley; his sons, Brent Michaelis (Karen), Brad Michaelis (Ann) and Brian Michaelis (Julie); his stepchildren, Susan Cameron (Kevin), Michael Pauley and Gregory Pauley (Peggy); his grandchildren, Derek Michaelis (Morgan), Kyle Michaelis, Megan Michaelis, Mallory Michaelis, Brock Michaelis, Madison Michaelis, Ellie Michaelis and Kaden Michaelis; his stepgrandchildren, Nicholas Cameron, Lucas Cameron, Shannon Rodriguez, Tim Moorehead, Hannah Pauley and Noah Pauley; and his siblings, Marvin Michaelis (Nancy) and Diane Johnson (George). He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
