He was predeceased by: his parents, Mellie Sanders (Smith) and Charles Arthur Sanders; his siblings, Charles Sanders, Anna Sanders, Merle Sanders, Lester Sanders and Katherine Ryan (Sanders); and his grandson Brett Sanders.
He is survived by: his wife Helen C. Scales; his children, Marva Triplett and Marcus Sanders (Joreen); his granddaughters, Amanda Carpenter (Kevin) and Leah Valentine; his great grandchildren, Nadia Sanders, Dorian Sanders and Laiah Valentine; and his close friend Elder Clifford Brown. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
