He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Highfield and Mary Highfield; and his siblings, Barbara Wilburn, Herbert Highfield Jr. and Kenneth Highfield.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Highfield; his son Greg Highfield (Kim); his nephew Gary Highfield (Lori); his stepchildren, Dana Newsome and Matthew Newsome (Ally); his grandchildren, Austin, Alexis, Gracie, Raygen, Megan, Cory, Sierra, Erica, Lauren, Dallas, Chenoa, Aiden, Kempton and Jamison; his sister Beverly Perkins (Robert); his sister-in-law Peggy Highfield; and his close friends, Paul, Nancy Edwards, April, BJ Boyer and Karen Widmeyer. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
