He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Ray and Irene May Shafer (Miley); his wife Mary J. Shafer (Byrd); and his brothers, Wesley, Richard and Robert Shafer.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela Shuemake (Randy) of Mt. Orab, Sharon Duncan of Williamsburg and Lesa Shafer of Sardinia, Ohio; his grandchildren, Brandon Motley (Erin) of Florida, Jeremy Duncan (Jenny) of Williamsburg, Amanda Houserman (Kyle) of Goshen, Darin Duncan (Katie) of Sardinia, Dustin Shuemake (Trista Tyler) of Mt. Orab and Shelby Shuemake (Samantha Davis) of Mt. Orab; and his great grandchildren, Bryson Mitchell, Eden Houserman, Brennan Duncan, Alissa Duncan, Addison Duncan and Aria Duncan.
During the visitation and funeral, face masks will be required and social distancing will be observed.
