He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Townsend and Shirley Ann Townsend; and his children, Turrell Mathis and Kwona Brown-Best. He is survived by: his children, Charles Brown (Renee), Delilah Brown (James), Tanika Mathis and Tena Anderson; and his siblings, Jack Townsend (Tracy), Teresa Townsend (Phil), Allene Wilson (Kenny), Roy Townsend (Zena) and Sheila Townsend. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends.
