He was predeceased by: his grandfather Shinnock. He is survived by: his parents, Ken A. Rees (Jean) of Muncie, IN and Erica S. Rees (Shinnock) of Mount Gilead; his fiancé Haylee R. Cargill; his daughter Payslee J. Rees; his siblings, Gabriel Goens (Nicole) of Delta, Bambi Whipple (Kevin) of Mount Gilead and Christina Griffin (Kory) of Mount Gilead; and his aunts and uncles, Mary South (Harley), Tammy Green (Jeff), Craig Rees and Cary Rees (Linda). He is also survived by many cousins, loving nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a contribution to Derick's family and additional funds will be used to establish a college fund for Payslee.
