Gilmer J. touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. In the vast expanse of eternity, Gilmer J. shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Gilmer J. farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Hurst and Evelyn Hurst (Ratliff). He is survived by: his wife Sharron Houghton; his children, Renee Bertke (Dan) of Canton and Mark Hurst (Tracy Matthews) of Morristown, TN; and his siblings, Georgie Stewart, Brenda Hoskins (Gary), Francie Hampton (Bud), Mary Jane Ojanen (Bobby), Dale Hurst (Rita), Juddy Hurst (Emma) and Terry Hurst (Sue).
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Spidell Funeral Home (15900 E Main St, Mt Eaton, OH 44659). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Eaton Community Church (8478 N Market St, Mt Eaton, OH 44659).
