He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion H. Motter and Helen E. Motter (Failor). He is survived by: his wife Virginia Krout; his daughters, Dawn Altvater of Wharton and Vicki Bowman (Todd) of Plain City; his grandchildren, Amanda Haimes (Kevin), Kimberly Bowman, Gregory Bowman (Emily Wilson) and Brian Bowman; and his great grandchild Andrew Haimes.

Memorials may be given to either the Riverdale Athletic Boosters or the Mt. Blanchard Beautification Committee, c/o the Mt. Blanchard Community Festival.
