He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thomas and Vernie Mae Brooks (Sweeney); his wife Marie Brooks (Gambrel); his daughters, Linda Gray and Lucille Gallimore; and his siblings, Archie Brooks, Walter Clay Brooks and Pearl Gilbert.
He is survived by: his children, Lois Ann Franklin of Felicity, Allen Brooks (Pamela) of Lakeland, Virginia Mae Lang of Georgetown and Bonnie Louise Stroup of Williamsburg, Ohio. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.
