He was predeceased by: his sister Penny Rogers (Norman); and his parents, John Jerry Sr. and Thelma Lee Smerdel. He is survived by: his wife Lisa Marie Smerdel; his children, Angela Santos (Gaspar) and Matthew Smerdel; his grandchildren, Isabela, Gabriella Santos, Marlee and Phoenix Smerdel; and his sister Laura Arrotta (Jeff). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends.
