He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvia Lay and Myron S. Lay; and his siblings, Joyce L Wirth (Bob), Sylvia Ann Wirth (Wally), Carol Raya (Ron), Mary Hurst (Jim), Myron H Lay (Cathy) and Charles William Lay (Barbara).

He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his children, David Lay (Michelle), William Douglas Lay (Cathy) and Mary Elmer (Brian); and his grandchildren, Matthew, Maxwell, Michael, Tim, Emma, Kathryn, Ethan and Lilly. He is also survived by many family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Countryside Church of the Nazarene (1436 Deerfield Rd, Lebanon, OH 45036). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Lebanon Christian School, 1436 Deerfield Rd., Lebanon, OH 45036.
