He was predeceased by: his parents, Tomas Benton and Hazel; his wife Eloise; and his brothers, Ray and Carlos Rutherford.
He is survived by: his children, Charles Thomas Rutherford and Lisa Rutherford; his sisters, Ruth, Thelma and Gladys; his grandchildren, Brian Eifert, Laura Eifert, Brent Eifert and Charlie Pottorf; and his great grandchildren, Shayla and Riley. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
