He was predeceased by: his wife Jackie; his daughter Jody; and his siblings, Mike Kaplan, Phil Kaplansky, Geraldine Gilman and Harriet Kaplansky.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Kaplansky and Dori Kaplansky; his grandchildren, Robert Kaplansky, Zachary Popik, Jeremy Popik, Joshua Popik, Leigh Ann Popik and Alyson Kaplansky; and his great grandchild Coraline Kaplansky.
