She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Hill and Marie Hill (Wiyrick); her husband Ralph Nelson Simmons; her children, Mark Simmons and Julie R. Simmons-Davis; and her brothers, Dr. Doyle Hill and Lowell "Sam" Hill.
She is survived by: her children, Renell Lloyd (David) and Kelly Deetz (Jeff); her grandchildren, Andy, Chris Goebel, Jawn Baker, Dusty Lloyd, Paige, Erica Deetz and Angel Simmons; her great grandchildren, Alec, Eric, Jacob and Kiley Lynn; and her sister Sue Pignataro (Gene).
Memorials can be made in Ila's memory to First Baptist Church or Elara Hospice.
