He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew A. Guenther and Lillian Grace Guenther (Weiss); his sons, Donald Guenther Jr. and Vincent Guenther; his stepchildren, Nora Hood and Chris Hood; and his siblings, Delores Green, Margaret Shotz and Robert Guenther.

He is survived by: his wife Ellen C. Hurd; his children, Diane Larson (John), Annette Ruhland (Larry) and Matthew Guenther; his stepchildren, Robert Hood, Diana Landsman, Linda Cummings and Eileen Monington; and his sister Jean Musik. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Williams County Department of Aging, Meals on Wheels Program.
