He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold A. Karnes and Gladys F. Karnes (Stone); and his brothers, Gene Karnes and Quentin Karnes. He is survived by: his former wife Sandra K. Kizer; his wife Sandy; his children, Kelly Gerken (Brent) of Defiance and Rob Karnes (Holly) of Dayton, Ohio; and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Christman (Brandon), Nicholas Gerken and Rachel Gerken.
Per the Governors orders, those wishing to attend visitation are encouraged to bring a mask and follow the recommended social distancing guidelines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church or the MHS Golf team.
