Atha I. Mercer Obituary
We are sad to announce that on August 19, 2024, at the age of 95, Atha I. Mercer of Montpelier, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Atha farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Atha is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard A. Hershiser and Laura Madge Hershiser (Kline); her husband Sherman R. Mercer; and her brother Leighton Hershiser. She is survived by: her children, Teresa Smeltzer (Gordon) of Montpelier, Jim Mercer of Bradenton and Sharri Bandeen (Brook) of Millbury, Ohio; and her stepdaughter Melinda Robison of Montpelier. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be given to Elara Hospice or the Williams County Humane Society Rainbow Bridge.
