He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Meyer and Eda Meyer (Kessler); his wife Jeanette B. Meyer; his grandson Homer Shields, III; and his siblings, Harvey Meyer and Alice "Shorty" Ruffing.
He is survived by: his children, Lynne Hemenway of Norwalk, Jill Sitterly (Mike) of Monroeville, Denise Brooks (Bill) of Monroeville, Tam Opper (Glen) of Monroeville, Toby Meyer (Maurine Schmidt) of Collins and Kris Schaffer (Jim) of Monroeville; his grandchildren, Tina Shields, Dawn Aronhalt (Scott), Eric Opper (Stacey), Sandi Poths (Clint), Kellie Polito (Scott), Steve Sitterly, Joan Cutcher (Ken), Betsy Rasnick (Kevin), Tiffany Arnold (Caleb), Craig Meyer, Taylor Devlin (Andrew), Morgan Rarick, Christoper Schaffer and Courtney Schaffer; his great grandchildren, Derek, Dylan Shields, Olivia, Alexandra Aronhalt, Emily Berry, Abbi, Kaci Poths, Anderson, Weston Polito, Ella, Lane Arnold, Carson, Brysen Rasnick, Penelope Devlin and Nate Kradlak; his sister Laetta Long; and his sister-in-law Evelyn Ruffing. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
