He was predeceased by: his parents, Sheldon and Hazel (Codding); his wife Vonna Carlson (Thompson); his son Burt Carlson; his sister Sarah; his siblings-in-law, Jim Frost and Shirley Carlson; his sister Shirley; his brother-in-law Chuck Reinke; his brother Dean; and his siblings-in-law, Marion Thompson, Leslie Thompson and Ronnie Thompson.
He is survived by: his son Steve Carlson of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; his grandsons, Spencer Carlson (Cassandra Kosovec) of Green and Aaron Carlson (Olivia) of Kingsville, Ohio; his great grandchildren, Rowan Kosovec, Milo Carlson and Warner Carlson; his daughter-in-law Debbie Carlson of Conneaut, Ohio; his brothers, Robert Carlson (Nancy) of Andover and Dick Carlson of Conneaut, Ohio; and his sisters-in-law, Linda Thompson of North Kingsville, Judy Thompson of Dunstable, MA and Mary Lee Coxen of Rock Hill, SC.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
