She was predeceased by: her parents, William R. Applebee and Florence Applebee (Rennick); her husband Joseph Simak; her siblings, Edna Kitchen (Francis), Ethel Anderson (Walter), Eleanore, William Applebee (Effie), Doris Furmage (Robert), Elizabeth Sheneman (Paul), Lois Detrick (Edward), Donald Applebee and John Applebee (Bonnie); and her great great grandchild Everleigh Hicks.

She is survived by: her children, Joseph W. Simak (Toni), Jon Simak (Debbie) and Marti Picard (Bob); her grandchildren, Manuela Mosier (Mark), Tony Balascio (Paula), Michael Balascio (Anita), Eric McCroskey (Kathleen), Michelle Shetler (Robert), Jodi Simak-Cronk, Nicole Bruckman (Timothy), Jeremy Simak (Christa), Lori Stright (David) and Jaimie Lester (Scotty); her sisters-in-law, Beverly Applebee and Mary Ann Thorpe (Norman); and her great grandchild Skilyr Hicks. She is also survived by thirty great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
