He was predeceased by: his parents, James Diefenbach and Ruth Diefenbach; his daughter Denise Matz; and his brother Richard "Dick" Diefenbach. He is survived by: his wife Sue Diefenbach; his daughter Janet Lynch (David); his grandson Chris Noble (Annie); and his children, Carson and Amelia. He is also survived by many extended family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Choir.
