He was predeceased by: his parents, George Cope and Ida Mae Cope (Frisch); and his siblings, George "Dick" Cope, James "Slick" Cope, Wilma Gibson, Marilee O'Connor, John Cope and David "Tad" Cope.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Cope (Frasher); his son Benson "Bing" Cope II (Bendetta); his brothers, Charles Cope and Jerry Cope (Kay); his grandchildren, Rachel Hughes (Alex), Stephanie Harper, Taylor Cope, Alec Cope and Wesley Cope; and his great grandchildren, Alexa, Aleah, William, Abbey and Riley.

“Hearing of Bing's passing brought back a flood of fond memories of him, Tad, Mary, Phil Frazier and the entire, large Cope family. What an athletic, warm, hospitable, kind and caring family the Copes were and are. Spent many a weekend at the old Cope home on Carolina St., running, playing tag, shooting our BB guns and enjoying childhood. Bing left our world a better place. Due to COVID, I will be unable to attend Bing's visitation but please remember he will be in my thoughts and prayers.”
