With solemn reverence, we commemorate Sophia E. Blanar (Mogadore, Ohio), whose life came to an end on December 18, 2024 at the age of 87, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her siblings, Mary Chupak Rawe, John Chupak, Lillian Hurchanik, Rosalie Wasson, William Chupak, Frank Chupak, Joe Chupak, Anne Kudelko, George "Zeke" Chupak, Esther Chupak, Julie Chupak and Harry Chupak; and her daughter Mary Magdalena Blanar.
She is survived by: her children, Stephen Blanar (Joy) and Stephanie Higginbotham (Scott); her godson David Kudelko; and her caregivers, Katie Theis, Joyce Yoder and Amanda Kaley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, friends, her church family, and her most caring neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at 7:00 PM and on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church (755 S Cleveland Ave, Mogadore, OH 44260). A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 12:30 PM at the St. Nicholas Cemetery (1600 Krumroy Rd, Akron, OH 44312).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Mogadore, Ohio- OR that you plant a flower, bush, or tree- and when it blooms, remember Sophia!
