We are sad to announce that on March 16, 2025, at the age of 95, Eugene J. Schmitmeyer of Minster, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Eugene may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home (61 S Hanover St, Minster, OH 45865). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Augustine Catholic Church (48 N Hanover St, Minster, OH 45865). A burial was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at the St. Augustine Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grand Lake Hospice.
