It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald H. Schmitmeyer of Minster, Ohio, who passed away on November 28, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Leander Schmitmeyer; his wife Marilyn Menker; his grandson Matthew Schmitmeyer; his sisters, Dorothy Schmitmeyer (Roger Schmitmeyer) and Kathy Schmitmeyer; and his siblings-in-law, Urban Schlater, Cyril Thobe Virginia, Les Schneider, Alfrieda, Lavern, Jane Menker, Norman and Rosie Menker.
He is survived by: his children, Mark (Vicki Schmitmeyer), Dallas of Texas, Doug (Karen Schmitmeyer), Bruce Schmitmeyer and Jill (Michael Albers); his grandchildren, Brian (Cassandra Schmitmeyer), Jennifer Schmitmeyer, Stephanie (Dale Bruns), Jessica (Nicholas Kobunski), Andrew (Morgan Albers), Jonathan Albers and Alex Schmitmeyer; his stepgrandchildren, Sara, Josh Carson and Sam Schroeder; his great grandchildren, Morgan, Anna, Evan Schmitmeyer, Tate, Owen Bruns, Lillian, Noah Kobunski and Nora Albers; his stepgreat-grandsons, James Carson and Grayson Schroeder; his sister Martha Thobe; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Ann Schmitmeyer and Eugene Menker (Allen).
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Grand Lake Hospice.
