He is survived by: his children, Joshua Kovach (Patricia) of Amsterdam and Jackie Higgs (Ray) of Brilliant; and his brothers, Douglas Kovach (Mirashan) of Texas and Bryan Kovach of Brilliant. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
