It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John F. Buchmelter III of Mingo, Ohio, born in Mingo Junction, Ohio, who passed away on February 26, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Buchmelter and Mary Buchmelter (Jarzabek); his wife Thelma Buchmelter (Paavola); his son Benjamin Adrian Buchmelter; and his sisters, Dolores Stewart (Kenneth), Clementine Cacciacarro (Leonard), Mary Kay Shumard Hall (Robert) and Rita Castanon (Martin).
He is survived by: his children, John F. Buchmelter IV (Tania) of Fitchburg and Mary Kucynski (Ron) of Maineville, OH; and his grandchildren, Philip, Lily, Willow, Sheba, Gizmo and Sawyer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their extended families.
In lieu of flowers monetary donations may be made to Jefferson County Humane Society or to the family to purchase a memorial in his honor at the Airparks.
