He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Hevener and Dorothy Hevener (Hamerick); his wife Susan L. Hevener (Pisciteili); his son Roland L. Hevener; and his siblings, Ralph, Raymond, Robert Hevener, Ruby Lou Hevener and Rosalle Slavens.

He is survived by: his son Mark F. Pyles; and his sisters, Audrey Sommerville and Betty Deafenbaugh.
