He was predeceased by: his father Joseph; his wife Juanita Baker; his son Sammy Baker; and his siblings, Buck Baker, Van Baker, Joe Baker, Jr., Bobby Maynard, Hi Maynard, Ferell Maynard, JC Maynard, Effie Hale, Marie Blackburn, Flora Reed, Ethel Thacker, Wilma Lee Parker and Loretta Holsinger.
He is survived by: his children, Danny Baker (Saadet), Gail DeLong (Andrew), Saundra Allen, Sandra Stiltner, Kathie Kazee (John) and Shelia King (Jeff); and his caregiver Sandra Gaines. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchildren.
